The Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), a Government of India PSU under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has entered into a five-year Business-to-Business (B2B) agreement with Bhutan’s National Seed Centre (NSC), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, for the export of fertilisers.
Under the agreement, BVFCL will supply Bhutan with essential fertilisers including Urea, Suphala (NPK), SSP, MOP, and Borax, ensuring timely availability of key agricultural inputs to support Bhutan’s food security and productivity goals.
The agreement was signed in Siliguri in the presence of officials from both nations. The signing ceremony began with the Lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp, symbolising a shared vision for prosperity and growth.
From the Royal Government of Bhutan, the event saw participation from Yonten Gyamtsho, Director, Department of Agriculture; Deepak Rai, Program Director, NSC; and Sonam, Senior Store Manager, NSC.
Representing BVFCL were Satyajit Mishra, General Manager (Marketing); Chandragupta Kakati and Sunil Kumar Tripathi, Senior Managers; Romi Chakravorty, Deputy Manager; and Devendra Singh Rajawat, Assistant Manager.
“This agreement reflects BVFCL’s commitment to regional cooperation and agricultural development. Our partnership with Bhutan ensures farmers get access to quality fertilizers on time, thereby boosting productivity,” said Mishra.
