Nishamoni Bora from Sarupathar in Assam’s Golaghat district has made her state proud by securing the top honour at the recently concluded All India Windsurfing Championship 2024.
Bora showcased her exceptional windsurfing skills, emerging victorious in the competition held from June 5 to June 9 in Chennai, on the waters of the Indian Ocean. The event was organised by the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association (TNSA) and saw participation from 18 clubs across the country.
In a remarkable display of talent and perseverance, Bora outperformed her competitors, clinching the gold medal by surpassing seven other contestants. This victory marks her second consecutive national gold medal, underscoring her growing prominence in the sport of windsurfing.
