Guwahati: Three prison inmates of Tezpur Central Jail managed to evade security measures and flee the premises by jumping the boundary walls. The escapees are accused of heinous crimes including kidnapping and rape of minors. The incident sparked widespread concern among authorities and the local public.

The escaped prisoners have been identified as Indrajit Mandal, a resident of West Bengal, along with Jeherul Islam and Thuleswar Tati from Thelamara in Sonitpur district.

Reports indicate that the jail authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the escape, aiming to determine the precise method employed by the inmates to breach the high-security facility.

Efforts are underway to compile a comprehensive report detailing the events leading up to the escape, with a particular focus on identifying any lapses in security protocols. Concurrently, a concerted search operation has been launched to locate and apprehend the fugitives swiftly.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that may aid in the capture of the escaped prisoners.
