Guwahati: Royal Global University, Assam, is set to host the 37th Inter-University Northeast Zone, Karmotsav 2.0, organised under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) from February 6-10.
15 universities from across the Northeast registered for the 5-day cultural festival, bringing together over 500 students to participate in various events. The festival will commence with a lively cultural procession, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of each participating university, highlighting the diversity of states and regions.
The universities participating in Karmotsav 2.0 include Cotton University, Manipur University, National Sports University, Nagaland University, Bodoland University, Dibrugarh University, Manipur University of Culture, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Gauhati University, Girija Nanda Chowdhury University, Northeastern Hill University, University of Science and Technology, Tezpur University, Khangchendzonga State University, Sikkim.
Events are categorised into five major segments: music, dance, theatre, literature, and fine arts, all of which will be organized simultaneously at various venues within the RGU campus. Karmotsav 2.0, facilitated by AIU, provides a unique platform for participants to explore the world’s cultural richness, offering them an opportunity to showcase their talents while experiencing a perfect blend of learning and entertainment.

In addition to the cultural festivities, the Royal School of Nursing observed ‘World Cancer Day’ on Monday. Dr. Srabana Misra Bhagabaty, Associate Professor cum In-Charge, Department of Preventive Oncology at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, delivered a talk stressing the importance of awareness in detecting and preventing cancer. The department also organised a poster competition and skit performance to commemorate the occasion.
Simultaneously, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the Royal School of Medical and Applied Sciences conducted an awareness talk in honor of ‘World Cancer Day.’
