Arunachal: AR distributes hearing aids to beneficiaries in Khonsa

Guwahati: The Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a humanitarian outreach programme for the distribution of hearing aids under Operation Sadbhavana at Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh on March 3, 2026.

The initiative aimed to assist specially-abled individuals suffering from hearing impairment and improve their quality of life. A total of 17 beneficiaries from Tirap and Longding districts were identified and provided with hearing aids during the programme.

The beneficiaries were selected in coordination with local authorities to ensure that assistance reached those genuinely in need in a timely manner.

The programme witnessed active participation from members of the local community and representatives from the districts. Recipients and their families expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the gesture and for its continued support to people in the region.

Officials said the initiative reflects the commitment of the Khonsa Battalion towards community welfare and its efforts to foster goodwill, trust and strong civil–military relations.

Through such initiatives under Operation Sadbhavana, the Assam Rifles continues to contribute to the socio-economic upliftment and overall well-being of the local population in Tirap district.
