Arunachal: AR neutralizes ULFA (I) cadre in firefight in Namsai

Guwahati: In a counter-insurgency operation, Assam Rifles personnel neutralised a suspected ULFA (I) cadre during an exchange of fire in the 6 Mile area of Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh.

According to official sources, the operation was launched on the night of October 21, based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of insurgents involved in abduction and extortion activities in the region.

During the area domination exercise, the troops reportedly came under fire from unidentified insurgents. The fire was promptly retaliated, resulting in the neutralization of one militant.

Security forces also recovered war-like stores from the site. Preliminary intelligence assessments suggest that the deceased insurgent was affiliated with the proscribed ULFA-I faction.
