Guwahati: Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Spear Corps, visited the Sector Headquarters of Assam Rifles at Lekhapani to assess the operational preparedness and ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in South Arunachal Pradesh.
During the visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar reviewed the ground situation, interacted with troops, and evaluated the effectiveness of security measures implemented by the Assam Rifles in the region. He was briefed on the sector’s operational achievements, area domination initiatives, and people-centric programs.
The GOC lauded the professionalism, dedication, and selfless service of Assam Rifles personnel, acknowledging their key role in curbing insurgent activities and maintaining peace and stability in South Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the troops, he appreciated their courage, steadfastness, and sense of duty in conducting operations under challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions.
