Dimapur: The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has confirmed its decision to proceed with an indefinite shutter down of all shops and business establishments in Dimapur, starting from Friday, April 26. This decision was reached following a three-hour-long closed-door meeting held on Wednesday, April 24, convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur at his office to address the proposed indefinite shutter down.

Representatives from various administrative and civil bodies, trade and business associations, and civil society organizations were present at the meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The district trade body, DCCI, had issued a press statement on Monday, April 22, calling for the indefinite shutter down from Friday, April 26. The statement cited “unabated multiple taxation, intimidation, and summons” by Naga Political Groups as reasons for the action, stating that the shutter down would continue until the grievances of the business community are addressed.
