Mizoram: Assam Rifles seize heroin worth over Rs. 73 lakh in border operations

Aizawl: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Police Department of Zokhawthar, Champhai District, conducted successful operations in the border area of Zokhawthar, resulting in the recovery of significant quantities of Heroin No 4 and the apprehension of individuals involved in illegal drug trafficking.

On April 20, 2024, a combined team of Assam Rifles and the local police, acting on specific intelligence, apprehended a Myanmar national in Zokhawthar. The operation yielded Heroin No 4 weighing 61 grams, valued at approximately Rupees 42.70 lakh. The recovered contraband and the detained individual were handed over to the Police Department of Zokhawthar, Champhai District, for further legal proceedings.

Similarly, on April 21, 2024, another successful operation was carried out by Assam Rifles and the Zokhawthar Police Department, resulting in the recovery of Heroin No 4 weighing 44 grams, valued at approximately Rupees 30.80 lakh.
