Mizoram: Zoramthanga accuses Mizoram CM of NDA negotiations

Aizawl: In a fiery accusation, the President of the Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoramthanga, has alleged that Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma engaged in discussions with the Assam Chief Minister to align with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) before the 2023 MLA elections. Zoramthanga made these claims during a campaign program in Saitual on Tuesday.

Zoramthanga asserted that the NDA perceives the MNF as troublesome due to their staunch advocacy for Mizoram’s interests. He recounted an incident involving Home Minister Amit Shah’s request for Mizoram’s cooperation in the Mizoram-Assam boundary dispute, to which he allegedly responded by stating his resignation as CM would precede any such actions.

Furthermore, Zoramthanga accused the Mizoram Chief Minister of attempting to forge ties with the NDA before the MLA elections, highlighting the purported discord within the MNF regarding the alliance. He suggested that the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) desires the MNF to sever ties with the NDA to facilitate their own potential alignment.
