Assam: Female electors outnumber male voters in 3-phase LS polls

Guwahati: Female electors, young and old, outnumbered male electors during the three-phase Lok Sabha elections in Assam, with 1,00,04348 women coming out to vote as against 99,83851 men across the 14 parliamentary seats.

The three-phase polls recorded an overall voter turnout of 81.56 percent with as many as 1,99, 88,275 general electors casting their ballots at the polling stations out of a total of 2,45,06236 eligible general voters.

Notably, the final voting percentage calculated at the end of the third and concluding phase across four constituencies on Tuesday was recorded at 85.45, with Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency recording the highest voter turnout at 92.08 percent.
