Assam: Massive fire engulfs 50 houses in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: A devastating fire ravaged through the Borlengri area of Karbi Anglong district on Sunday, April 28, leaving more than 50 families homeless. The incident, which occurred near the Assam-Nagaland border, adjacent to Dimapur, resulted in the destruction of over 50 houses, primarily bamboo shanty constructions.

According to eyewitnesses, the inferno erupted around 1 pm from a single house, rapidly spreading across the locality. The intensity of the blaze was intensified by the bursting of numerous LPG gas cylinders and the relentless blowing of hot, dry winds characteristic of the season. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.

Speaking to EastMojo, an official from the West fire station in Dimapur said two fire tender trucks were dispatched from the fire station and two more from the Central fire station. Despite these efforts, the exact cause of the fire remains unclear and is yet to be determined.
