Kohima: The Department of Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS), Nagaland, on Thursday clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG in the state and urged the public not to panic or indulge in unnecessary hoarding.
The clarification came after a review meeting convened by the department to assess the current availability of LPG and other petroleum products in the state. The meeting was held in Kohima on March 12 and was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Kohima, Dimapur and Chümoukedima, officials of the F&CS Department, and representatives from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
After reviewing the existing stock position, the department informed that sufficient domestic LPG stock is available in the market, assuring consumers that supply across the state remains stable.
In view of the current stock status, consumers have been requested not to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding of domestic LPG, which may lead to artificial scarcity.
The department also cautioned LPG distributors, retailers and individuals that black marketing, overpricing or unauthorised sale of domestic LPG is illegal and punishable under relevant provisions of law. It warned that strict action will be taken against any person or entity found involved in such activities.

Seeking cooperation from the public, the department urged consumers to help maintain orderly distribution by following the prescribed norms.
It also reminded consumers that booking of domestic LPG cylinders is carried out only through the digital booking system, and delivery is verified through the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC).
