Imphal: Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, has expressed deep concern over a distressing incident reported along the Ukhrul–Imphal road, where innocent civilians were allegedly held captive in the area under Litan Police Station on Wednesday.
Appealing to those responsible, the Chief Minister urged them to uphold the highest traditions of humanity and ensure the safe and unconditional release of all the civilians at the earliest.
He assured the families of the victims and the public that the state government is treating the matter with utmost seriousness and will take all necessary steps to bring those involved in the “cowardly act” to justice. Singh reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of every citizen of the state.
The Chief Minister has also directed senior police and administrative officials to coordinate immediate efforts to keep a close vigil on the situation and secure the release of the civilians.
