Guwahati: A man was critically injured on Tuesday after being shot at by his friend in Guwahati, Assam, for allegedly having an affair with his wife, police said.
Saddam Hussain, an electrician, was taken to the Pratiksha Hospital in Guwahati with serious injuries. Bapan Debnath, who allegedly shot him, has been arrested by the police.
The shooting took place in the Borbari area of Guwahati on Tuesday afternoon. A dispute broke out between Saddam and Bapan over an alleged affair between Saddam and Bapan’s wife, police said in a statement.

Saddam Hussain reportedly fled with Bapan’s wife ten days ago. When he returned to Guwahati, Bapan confronted him and shot him.
The police said that the source of the firearm used in the shooting is currently under investigation.
