Dibrugarh: The foundation stone for the construction of the Pemakoe Mindrolling Gonpa was laid today by His Holiness the 9th Minling Khenchen Rinpoche at Tuting, close to the Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district.
The Rinpoche and his entourage arrived from the Mindroling Monastery, which is situated in Dehradun. Pema Khanduand Chowa Mein, who were scheduled to attend the historic ceremony, could not reach the venue as their chopper could not take off from Pasighat due to inclement weather.
Addressing the gathering, the Rinpoche stated that the new Gonpa, which is coming up as a dream project, will be open to people of all religions and faiths.
He also advised the people to offer their prayers with a pure mind and pure thoughts. He thanked the Arunachal Pradesh Government and local MLA Alo Libang for their wholehearted contribution towards the construction of the new Gonpa.
Apart from Alo Libang, Arunachal Pradesh Food Commission Chairman Tarh Tarak, former ZPM Pema Lapchi, senior BJP leader Nima Sangey and ADC Tuting Pandav Perme were present during the day-long religious ceremony.
